With 21 years of experience, Thomas Thompson is a master of technical theatre. He earned his undergraduate degree at Illinois State University and his MFA from University of Illinois, where he was the Technical Director for the Department of Opera. "Tommy" has toured professionally with rock greats like Motley Crue and Aerosmith and has worked with John Mayer, P!NK, Josh Groban, Tom Petty, and many other music legends. He toured extensively with David Copperfield's magic show. His technical theatre credits further include the national tours of Les Miserables, Footloose, Miss Saigon, VeggieTales LIVE, Blues Clues Live and numerous other professional touring productions. Tommy is a founding member of Breadline Theatre Group, he served as Technical Director and Scenic Designer at Morris Theatre Guild, and was Technical Director at Cherry County Playhouse as well as Lincoln Auditorium in Lincoln, Indiana. For the past 10 summer seasons, Tommy has been the Technical Director and has also served as the Production Manager for The New Harmony Theatre, a LORT-D professional theatre in New Harmony, Indiana. Having served as TD for the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville for 10 years, Tommy has recently made the move to work independently with his own business, Thompson Theatrical.

Consulting and instruction are available on technical theatre issues including lighting and sound. Custom constructed and hand painted backdrops are available as well.
